Malcolm Harris - Wedding and Portrait Photographer

My name is Malcolm Harris and I specialise in wedding photography in London, Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex, Wiltshire and the south of England.

My interest in, and love of photography started many years ago after buying my first 35mm camera, a Praktica Nova 1B. Today it sits quietly in retirement in a display cabinet, along with other cameras from my past, having been used by myself, my parents, friends or just collected for their classic looks. Now of course things have changed and we are nearly all brandishing fancy digital cameras and all the new devices that have brought so much change to the way we work.

Fortunately its only the tools that have moved on, the basic photographic skills required to achieve that great shot have not changed. My early days of photography were dominated by landscapes, but this changed slowly to the point now where 90% of my work involves people. My travel photography also reflects this change in the way I view the world. Much of this involves documentary style work, getting involved in the lives of the people I meet, spending the time to find out what things are really like in the countries I visit.

Wedding photography has always been an important area of my work and it was over 30 years ago that I first nervously pointed my camera in the direction of a Bride and Groom. I see it now as a great opportunity to take make a lasting record of the most important day in most peoples lives.
